Wasps can replace the position of bees to pollinate alfalfa

By Ahmad Suhendra

Naturally, the process of formation of alfalfa seed is very difficult, considering that almost 80-90% of alfalfa plants have cross-fertlized, which means that seeds will not be formed before the flower is fertilized by pollen from another flower (Derchseid and Warlstorm, 1991). The process of seed formation will be more effective with the help of bees, because bees can break down the lining of the stamens.
The results of field observations, wasps can replace the position of bees to pollinate alfalfa.
